Anka silk top
Crafted from sumptuous gambiered silk, the Anka top features an asymmetrical hemline and a graceful drape, lending a timelessly elegant and endlessly versatile look.
Gambiered silk is an extraordinary fabric, hand dyed using ancient artisanal methods. First the silk is dyed up to 25 times in a red yam dye bath, which gives it it's gorgeous red earth colour. Then it's laid onto the ground on the riverbank, mud from the river is brushed onto one side of the silk. The river is rich in minerals, particularly iron, which reacts with the tannins in the yam creating a black colour only on one side of the fabric. The fabric is left to cure in the sun for a couple of days and then it's washed and rolled ready to be made into garments.
Anka top is available online and in-store in shades of grey in sizes S, M, L, XL. Other sizes can be made to order.
